Could this warrant an asbestos suit?
Old building being rennovated, built in the 1970s.. cement wall boards (asbestos?) attached to iron meshwire being smashed with sledgehammers, shovels etc by unqualified and untrained workers (HAZMAT suit? Gas mask?) with nothing but a flimsy painter's or dust mask. I believe it's an attempt to avoid paying licensed asbestos removal workers for $30+/hr and instead take advantage of the worker's situation, which requires them to be there. Or maybe the head of the work force is just that ignorant. Is it likely that cement wall boards, from a building constructed in the 1970s, a school to be exact, could contain asbestos? Furthermore isn't that highly irresponsible to be letting the dust (asbestos fibers?) to scatter and dissipate into the atmosphere and our lungs with nothing but a dustmask!? Well this is the situation I was put in and other workers at the site are still being exposed to. Please share your input, thank you.
